5/18 Dirk Nowitzki was selected to the All-NBA 1st Team.
4/25 The NBA fined Avery Johnson $10,000 for failing to leave the
     court in a timely manner following Saturday's Dal-Hou game.
4/21 Dallas left Tariq Abdul-Wahad, DJ Mbenga, and Pavel Podkolzin 
     off their playoff roster.
4/11 The NBA suspended Jerry Stackhouse and Kirk Snyder (Uta) for 1
     game for their postgame fight following Saturday's Dallas-Utah 
     game.
4/9 Avery Johnson has sign a new 4 year, $10 million coaching
    contract.  3 years are guaranteed and the 4th year would become 
    guaranteed if certain goals are met.  The contract starts with
    05-06 and he will receive a bonus for his coaching this season.
4/1 Dallas activated Erick Dampier and placed Pavel Podkolzin on IR
    with torn cartilage in his right knee.
3/30 Dallas activated Jerry Stackhouse and placed DJ Mbenga on IR
     with a strained right hamstring.
3/19 Don Nelson resigned as head coach.  Avery Johnson was named as
     head coach.
3/11 Dallas activated Pavel Podkolzin and placed Jerry Stackhouse on
     IR with a strained right groin.
3/1 Dallas signed Alan Henderson to a 1 year, minimum contract
    (pro-rated) and placed Pavel Podkolzin on IR with torn cartilage 
    in his right knee.
2/24 TRADE: Dallas traded Alan Henderson, Calvin Booth, and $250,000
     to Milwaukee for Keith Van Horn.
2/23 Dallas activated DJ Mbenga and placed Erick Dampier on IR with a
     stress fracture in his right foot.
2/1 Dallas activated Marquis Daniels and placed DJ Mbenga on IR with
    a strained right hamstring.
1/14 Dallas activated DJ Mbenga and placed Marquis Daniels on IR with
     a sore left ankle.
12/9 Dallas activated Michael Finley and placed DJ Mbenga on IR with
     a strained right hamstring.
12/3 TRADE: Dallas traded Dan Dickau and a 2nd round draft pick to
     New Orleans for Darrell Armstrong.
11/11 Dallas activated Dan Dickau and placed Michael Finley on IR 
      with a sprained right ankle.  Finley will have to miss at least 
      5 games.
11/2 Dallas elected not to pick up their 05-06 option for Dan Dickau.
11/1 Dallas placed Tariq Abdul-Wahad (left knee tendonitis), Pavel 
     Podkolzin (torn cartilage right knee), and Dan Dickau (sprained 
     left ankle) on IR.
10/29 Dallas released Derek Hood, Jason Sasser, and Felipe Lopez.
10/28 Avery Johnson announced his retirement as a player.  Dallas
      named Johnson as an assistant coach.

10/9 The NBA fined Mark Cuban $100,000 for his comments criticizing
     the rules limiting the training camp practices to just one 
     scrimmage per day, maximum of 3 hours per day, and 2-a-days to 
     just 5 days.
9/30 Dallas signed Avery Johnson to a 1 year, minimum contract.
9/28 Dallas named Hubert Davis as a member of their player developement 
     coaches.
9/1 Dallas released Jon Stefansson.
8/24 In a sign-and-trade, Dallas traded Eduardo Najera, Christian
     Laettner, the draft rights to Luis Flores, the draft rights to 
     Mladen Sekularac, a 1st round draft pick, a Philadelphia 1st 
     round draft pick, and cash to Golden State for Erick Dampier, 
     Evan Eschmeyer, and the draft rights to Steve Logan.  Dampier was 
     first re-signed to a 7 year, $73 million contract.
8/24 Golden State traded Dan Dickau to Dallas for a trade exception.
8/4 Dallas traded Antoine Walker and Tony Delk to Atlanta for Jason 
    Terry, Alan Henderson, and a 1st round draft pick.  The pick
    originally belonged to Philadelphia and has some protection on it.
?/?? At some point during the summer, Dallas hired Casey Smith as
     trainer.
7/29 Dallas signed 1st round draft pick (#21) Pavel Podkolzin to a 3 
     year, $3,424,680 with a 4th year worth $1,945,435 at the team's 
     option.
7/26 Dallas traded Danny Fortson to Seattle for Calvin Booth.
7/14 Dallas re-signed Marquis Daniels to a 6 year, $38,587,500 
     contract.  The 6th year is at Dallas' option.
7/14 Dallas signed Didier Ilunga-Mbenga to a 2 year, $3.36 million 
     contract.
7/2 Dallas signed 1st round draft pick (#5) Devin Harris to a 3 year,
    $8,842,440 contract with a 4th year worth $3,995,003 at the team's
    option.
6/28 Dallas fired trainer Roger Hinds, assistant trainer Steve Smith,
     and equipment manager Dwayne Wilson.
6/24 Traded Antawn Jamison and $1 million to Washington for Jerry
     Stackhouse, Christian Laettner, and the rights to #5 Devin 
     Harris.
6/24 Traded a future 1st round draft pick (lottery protected) to Utah
     for the rights to #21 Pavel Podkolzine.
