• 6/30 Dallas exercised their 12-13 option for Vince Carter.
• 6/29 TRADE: In a 4-team trade, Dallas traded away Lamar Odom and the rights to 2008 draft pick (#51) Shan Foster and received the rights to 2008 draft pick (#53) Tadija Dragicevic cash (and a $8.9 million trade excemption); the LA Clippers traded away Maurice Williams and the rights to 2012 draft pick (#53) Furkan Aldemir and received Lamar Odom; Utah traded away the rights to 2008 draft pick (#53) Tadija Dragicevic and received Maurice Williams and the rights to 2008 draft pick (#51) Shan Foster; and Houston traded away cash and received the rights to 2012 draft pick (#53) Furkan Aldemir.
• 6/28 The NBA draft occured. Dallas made two draft day trades.
• 6/28 Dallas traded the rights to #17 Tyler Zeller and Kelenna Azubuike to Cleveland for the rights to #24 Jared Cunningham, the rights to #33 Bernard James, and the rights to #34 Jae Crowder.
• 6/28 Dallas traded the rights to #55 Darius Johnson-Odom to the LA Lakers for cash.
• 6/28 The NBA announced that Dallas will play an exhibition (preseason) game on October 9 in Barcelona, Spain vs FC Barcelona Regal. The scheduled 10/6 preseason game in Berlin soldout in less than 40 minutes (14,500 seats).
• 6/27 Former Mavs player Pat Cummings died at age 55 (cause of death not yet known). Cummings played 12 seasons in the NBA from 79-80 to 90-91 including with Dallas for 82-83 and 83-84.
• 6/26 The NBA announced that Dallas will play Alba Berlin on October 6 in Berlin in an exhibition (preseason) game. Dallas will also play a preseason game in Spain (date to be announced).
• 5/24 Dirk Nowitzki was named to the All-NBA 3rd team.
• 5/15 Dallas signed head coach Rick Carlisle to a new 4 year contract.
• 5/5 Oklahoma City swept Dallas 4-0 in the First Round of the playoffs to eliminate Dallas from the playoffs.
• 5/5 In Game 4 of the playoffs, Oklahoma City defeated Dallas 103-97 in Dallas. Oklahoma City out-scored Dallas 35-16 in the 4th quarter. Kevin Durant (OKC) had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 turnovers; Russell Westbrook (OKC) had 12 points including 3-12 FG, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals; and James Harden (OKC) had 29 points including 11-16 FG and 3-4 3-pointers, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals - 15 of Harden's points came in the 4th quarter. Dirk Nowitzki had 34 points including 13-13 FT and 5 rebounds and Jason Kidd had 16 points including 4-8 3-pointers, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists.
• 5/3 In Game 3 of the playoffs, Oklahoma City defeated Dallas 95-79 in Dallas. Oklahoma City built up an 83-58 lead with 10:40 left in the 4th quarter and it was a blowout the rest of the way. Oklahoma City led the whole game. Oklahoma City shot 42.4% FG and Dallas shot just 34.2% FG. Kevin Durant (OKC) had 31 points including 11-15 FG and 4-6 3-pointers and 6 assists; Serge Ibaka (OKC) had 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks; and Russell Westbrook (OKC) had 20 points and 3 steals. Dirk Nowitkzi had 17 points and 9 rebounds and Jason Kidd had 12 points including 4-12 FG and 5 rebounds. Oklahoma City leads the series 3-0.
• 5/3 Jason Kidd (Dal) was named as the winner of the Sportsmanship Award. Kidd received 93 of a possible 334 1st place player votes. The players were asked to give a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place vote to the 6 previously announced divisional winners.

• 4/30 In Game 2 of the playoffs, Oklahoma City defeated Dallas 102-99 in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City did build up a 16-point lead in the 2nd quarter, but Dallas got back in the game with a 17-4 run and it was a tight 2nd half. A jumper by Vince Carter gave Dallas a 97-96 lead with 2:15 left, but Oklahoma City scored the next 4 points to take a 100-97 lead with 25 seconds left. Jason Terry got a quick layup after a timeout and James Harden (OKC) was fouled and hit 2 free throws with 15.5 seconds to go. Dallas didn't call timeout and Terry missed a 3-pointer, Carter rebounded, and Terry missed a 3-pointer as time expired. Kevin Durant (OKC) had 26 points on 5-17 FG and 14-16 FT, 10 rebounds, and 7 turnovers; Russell Westbrook (OKC) had 29 points; and Harden (OKC) had 15 points on 2-7 FG and 10-10 FT, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Shawn Marion had 15 points and 8 rebounds and Dirk Nowitzki had 31 points including 11-11 FT and 6 rebounds. OKC leads the series 2-0.
• 4/28 In Game 1 of the playoffs, Oklahoma City defeated Dallas 99-98 in Oklahoma City. The game stayed close with neither team holding more than an 8 point lead (with Dallas leading most of the game). Dallas led 94-87 with 2:30 left, but Oklahoma City rattled of 7 quick points to tie the game at 94-94 with 1:30 left. Ian Mahinmi got an offensive rebound and was fouled and hit 2 free throws with a minute to go, but Kevin Durant (OKC) found Serge Ibaka (OKC) for a dunk and the foul 10 seconds later to give Oklahoma City a 97-96 lead. Oklahoma City stole the ball, but Durant missed a jumper with 26 seconds left. After Dallas' last timeout, Nowitzki was hacked on the wrist and hit both free throws with 9 seconds to go. After a timeout, Durnat's (OKC) free throw jumper bounded off the front of the rim, off the backboard, and in with 1.5 seconds left. (With no timeout left) Dallas inbounded to Shawn Marion and he was unable to get off a shot before time expried. Durant (OKC) had 25 points including 10-27 FG and 1-6 3-pointers, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks; Ibaka (OKC) had 22 points including 9-12 FG, 6 rebounds, and 5 blocks; Russell Westbrook (OKC) had 28 points, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 5 turnovers; and James Harden (OKC) had 19 points including 9-10 FT, 6 rebounds, and 5 turnovers - those 4 combined for all but 5 of OKC's points. Shawn Marion had 17 points and 8 rebounds; Dirk Nowitzki had 25 points including 9-10 FT, 5 rebounds, and 6 turnovers; and Jason Terry had 20 points on 8-10 FG and 4-5 3-pointers and 5 assists. Jason Kidd had a team tying playoff record 7 steals. OKC leads the series 1-0.
• 4/28 Dallas placed Dominique Jones and Lamar Odom on IL.
• 4/27 The NBA held the tie-breakers for the order for the draft for the teams that finished with the same record. New York won the draft with Dallas and Utah (36-30) and then Dallas won the draw with Utah - so New York has the 16th pick (which goes to Houston), Dallas has the 17th pick, and Utah has the 18th pick (which goes to Minnesota). As a result of the draw, Dallas gets the #46 pick (but that goes to Washington). Dallas does have the #55 pick, from the Lakers.
• 4/26 Dallas finished the lockout shorten season with a record of 36-30.
• 4/26 Atlanta defeated Dallas 106-89 in Atlanta. Atlanta led 38-21 after the 1st quarter and held a double-digit lead the rest of the game. Atlanta shot 52.9% (45-85) FG and Dallas shot 42.3% (33-78) FG. Joe Johnson (Atl) had 15 points on 7-11 FG; Josh Smith (Atl) had 23 points including 10-14 FG, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists; and Jeff Teague (Atl) had 17 points on 7-11 FG and 3-4 3-pointers and 5 assists. Dirk Nowitzki had 22 points and Rodrigue Beaubois had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. Jason Kidd (rest) did not play.
• 4/21 Chicago defeated Dallas 93-83 in Dallas. Dallas was out-scored 8-21 in the 1st quarter, setting the team record for fewest points in a 1st quarter, but got in to the game in the 2nd quarter and even took a 1 point lead at 56-55 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. But Chicago then scored the last 11 points of the quarter. Dallas pulled within 76-78 with 5:40 left, but Chicago went on a 12-3 run to take an 11 point lead. Luol Deng (Chi) had 22 points including 4-7 3-pointers and 6 rebounds and Richard Hamilton (Chi) had 19 points. Dirk Nowitzki had 17 points and 7 rebounds and Rodrigue Beaubois had 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 rebounds. Jason Terry (rest) and Jason Kidd (rest) did not play.
• 4/21 Dallas activated Dominique Jones and placed Jason Kidd (rest) on IL.
• 4/20 Dallas defeated Golden State 104-94 in Dallas. Dallas went on an 18-5 run from the end of the 3rd quarter to 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter to take an 89-75 lead. Dirk Nowitzki had 16 points and 5 rebounds, Vince Carter had 19 points and 9 rebounds, and Brandan Wright had 17 points including 8-9 FG and 7 rebounds. Dorell Wright (GS) had 19 points including 5-14 FG and 4-9 3-pointers, Klay Thompson (GS) had 26 points including 3-4 3-pointers, and Brandon Rush (GS) had 20 points on 9-12 FG and 8 rebounds. Stephen Curry (GS, sprained right ankle), Andrew Bogut (GS, fractured left ankle), Andris Biedrins (GS, concussion), and David Lee (GS, strained groin) did not play.
• 4/20 Dallas activated Kelenna Azubuike and placed Dominique Jones (no injury) on IL.
• 4/19 With Houston's loss, Dallas clinched a playoff berth.
• 4/18 Dallas defeated Houston 117-110 in Dallas. Dallas out-scored Houston 39-26 in the 4th quarter. Dirk Nowitzki had 35 points including 3-4 3-pointers and 12-12 FT and 5 rebounds, Jason Terry had 19 points, and Vince Carter had 23 points. Luis Scola (Hou) had 18 points and 6 rebounds and Goran Dragic (Hou) had 20 points and 10 assists.
• 4/18 Dallas activated Rodrigue Beaubois and placed Kelenna Azubuike (no injury) on IL.
• 4/18 The NBA fined Delonte West $25,000 for giving Gordon Hayward (Uta) a wet willy (poking him in the ear with a finger) during Monday's Dal-Uta game.
• 4/16 Utah defeated Dallas 123-121 in 3 overtimes in Utah. Obviously it was a wild game. Dallas came back from 10 points down in the 4th quarter to take the lead on consecutive 3-pointers by Vince Carter to go up 89-87 with 8.5 seconds left, but Paul Millsap (Uta) got a putback dunk with 2.2 seconds left and Dirk Nowitzki's forced 3-pointer was long at the buzzer. Utah scored 8 straight points in the 1st overtime, but Dallas stayed in the game and a 3-pointer by Nowitzki tied the game with 4 seconds left and Utah missed twice inside. Neither team built more than a 2 point lead in the 2nd overtime and Al Jefferson (Uta) hit a tough jumper with 29 seconds left to tie the game at 111-111. Terry missed, the teams traded turnovers, and Millsap (Uta) missed a long 3-point runner at the buzzer. A 3-pointer by Devin Harris (Uta) and jumper by Jefferson (Uta) gave Utah a 5 point lead with a minute left in the 3rd overtime. Delonte West answered with a 3-pointer. Utah missed, but got the rebound and Millsap (Uta) was fouled with 15 seconds left - but hit 1-2 FT. Dallas missed on 2 3-point attempts [Harris (Uta) hit 2-2 FT with 5 seconds left and West hit a meaningless 3-pointer at the buzzer for the final points]. It was only the 2nd triple-overtime in team history (also a loss in 1989). Jefferson (Uta) had 28 points and 26 rebounds including 5 offenisve in 54 minutes; Gordon Hayward (Uta) had 24 points including 4-6 3-pointers and 8-10 FT and 5 assists in 54 minutes; and Harris (Uta) had 23 points including 5-12 3-pointers and 7 assists in 53 minutes. Nowitzki had 40 points including 12-12 FT, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in 53 minutes; Terry had 27 points including 4-9 3-pointers in 54 minutes; and Carter had 18 points and 12 rebounds. Jason Kidd played all of the 1st and 2nd overtimes, but the team chose to sit him for the 3rd overtime as his minutes were too high (45). Rodrigue Beaubois (strained right calf), Josh Howard (Uta, left knee surgery), Raja Bell (Uta, left knee injury), C.J. Miles (Uta, gastroc strain), and Earl Watson (Uta, knee injury) did not play.
• 4/16 Jason Kidd was named as the Southwest Divisional winner of the NBA Sportsmanship Award. Each team nominated one player and a pannel of 5 former players (Greg Anthony, John Crotty, Antonio Davis, Eddie Johnson, and Kenny Smith) selected the divisional winners. The overall winner of the Sportsmanship Award will be selected from the 6 divisional winners as voted on by the NBA players.
• 4/15 The LA Lakers defeated Dallas 112-108 in overtime in LA. The game stayed close throughout with the largest lead just 10 points and there were 17 lead changes during the game. Dirk Nowitzki missed a long jumper at the end of the 4th quarter and the game went into overtime at 98-98. The teams traded points over the first 2 1/2 minutes of overtime. Andrew Bynum (LAL) got a bucket, the teams traded missed 3-pointers, and Metta World Peace (LAL) hit a jumper with a minute left to give the Lakers a 110-108 lead. Nowitzki hit 2 free throws with 40 seconds left. The Lakers ran the clock down and missed with 16 seconds left. After a Dallas timeout, Jason Terry missed a runner and 2 free throws by Pau Gasol (LAL) capped the scoring. Gasol (LAL) had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists; Bynum (LAL) had 23 points and 16 rebounds including 5 offensive; Ramon Sessions (LAL) had 22 points and 5 assists; and Metta World Peace (LAL) had 18 points including 7-20 FG and 6 rebounds. Nowitzki had 24 points including 9-28 FG and 14 rebounds, Delonte West had 20 points including 9-15 FG, and Terry had 21 points including 5-6 3-pointers. • 4/13 Dallas defeated Portland 97-94 in Portland. Dallas built up a 24 point lead in the 3rd quarter and led 81-61 after 3. But Dallas had a dismal 4th quarter and shot just 6-16 FG and had 8 turnovers in the 4th as Portland out-scored Dallas 33-16 in the quarter - but fortunately their 3rd quarter lead was just big enough to hang on for the win. Dirk Nowitzki had 24 points including 4-5 3-pointers, 9 rebounds, and 5 turnovers; Delonte West had 21 points on 10-17 FG, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, and 6 turnovers; and Shawn Marion had 17 points on 8-10 FG and 14 rebounds. Nicolas Batum (Por) had 20 points and 8 rebounds and Jamal Crawford (Por) had 18 points including 6-17 FG and 0-6 3-pointers. Jason Kidd (rest) and LaMarcus Aldridge (Por, right hip injury) did not play.

Shawn Marion had 10 points and 14 rebounds including 8 offensive, Dirk Nowitzki had 15 points including 4-14 FG and 8 rebounds, and Rodrigue Beaubois had 15 points and 5 rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins (Sac) had 25 points, 18 rebounds, and 6 steals and Isaiah Thomas (Sac) had 16 points and 5 assists.
• 4/10 Dallas activated Jason Kidd and placed Kelenna Azubuike (no injury) on IL.
• 4/9 Dallas activated Kelenna Azubuike and placed Lamar Odom on IL. Azubuike was recalled from the NBADL. Dallas and Odom mutually agreed that Odom would remain on IL for the rest of the season (as his time with Dallas has been extremely unproductive (and if he was released he would be ineligible to join another team and play in the playoffs)).
• 4/7 Memphis defeated Dallas 94-89 in Memphis. Memphis out-scored Dallas 29-10 in the 1st quarter. Dallas did finally start playing and managed to make a game of it, pulling within 3 points in the 3rd quarter. Memphis led 92-87 with 2 minutes left, but Dallas committed 3 turnovers over the end of the game and really didn't give themselves a chance for a win. Dallas never led in the game. Rudy Gay (Mem) had 25 points including 9-15 FG and 5 rebounds and Zach Randolph (Mem) had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Dirk Nowitzki had 17 points including 5-16 FG and 8 rebounds and Brandan Wright had 16 points including 7-11 FG and 6 rebounds. Ian Mahinmi (birth of daughter) did not play.
• 4/7 In the NBADL, Springfield defeated Texas 105-98 in Frisco, Texas. Kelenna Azubuike had 2 points and 4 rebounds in 6 minutes.
• 4/6 Portland defeated Dallas 99-97 in overtime in Dallas. Dallas led most of the 1st half, but Portland out-scored Dallas 30-10 in the 3rd quarter. The game was close at the end of the 4th quarter. A layup by Jamal Crawford (Por) gave Portland a 91-89 lead with 1:25 left. The teams traded misses. Jason Terry fed Shawn Marion for a layup with 16 seconds to go. Terry stole the ball with 2 seconds left and his long 3-point heave was off. The game see-sawed between a 2 point Portland lead and tied in overtime. Another layup by Marion tied the game at 97-97 with 1:40 left. Neither team was able to score over the next 1 1/2 minutes. Dirk Nowitzki rebounded a Portland miss with 24 seconds left, but then threw the ball away (lot control of the pass when he saw Marion breaking ahead of the pack). Portland ran the clock down and Dallas used their foul to give with 3.5 seconds left. Portland got the ball in to LaMarcus Aldridge (Por) and he hit a step-back 18-foot jumper at the buzzer for the game winner. Aldridge (Por) had 25 points including the game winning jumper at the buzzer and 12 rebounds including 6 offensive and Raymond Felton (Por) had 30 points including 12-18 FG and 5-8 3-pointers, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Nowitzki had 23 points including 9-16 FG and 14 rebounds and Terry had 18 points including 4-9 3-pointers, 5 assists, and 3 steals.
• 4/6 Ian Mahinmi did not play in the Portland game due to the birth of his child.
• 4/6 In the NBADL, Los Angeles defeated Texas 104-100 in Frisco, Texas. Kelenna Azubuike had 2 points and 3 rebounds in 10 minutes.
• 4/4 Dallas defeated Memphis 95-85 in Dallas. The game stayed close throughout. Memphis led 73-68 with 10 minutes left and Dallas went on a 21-4 run to take an 89-77 lead with 3 minutes to go. It was Memphis' 3rd game in 3 nights. Shawn Marion had 16 points including 7-11 FG, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks, Dirk Nowitzki had 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Jason Terry had 15 points and 6 turnovers. Marc Gasol (Mem) had 10 points including 3-3 FG, 10 rebound,s 7 assists, and 4 blocks and O.J. Mayo (Mem) had 17 points including 4-5 3-pointers.
• 4/4 In the NBADL, Austin defeated Texas 110-90 in Cedar Park, Texas. Kelenna Azubuike had 7 points in 19 minutes.
• 4/2 The LA Clippers defeated Dallas 94-75 in Dallas. The Clippers out-scored Dallas 25-17 in the 1st quarter and 22-16 in the 2nd quarter and built up a 21 point lead midway through the 3rd quarter and it was a blowout the rest of the way. Blake Griffin (LAC) had 15 points including 7-11 FG and 16 rebounds and Randy Foye (LAC) had 28 points including 8-15 3-pointers. Dirk Nowitzki had 19 points and Jason Terry had 15 points - no other Mav was in double-digits. Lamar Odom (stomach illness) did not play.
• 4/2 Dallas activated Dominique Jones and placed Jason Kidd on IL. Kidd is expected to be out at leads 4 games with a strained right groin.
• 4/2 Former Mavs coach Don Nelson was named as an inductee for the class of 2012 to the Basketball Hall of Fame. Nelson had a record of 339-251 while coaching Dallas from 97-98 - 04-05. Former Mavs coach Dick Motta was nominated for the 2011 class, but not selected as an inductee.
• 4/1 In the NBADL, Iowa defeated Texas 103-98 in Frisco, Texas. Kelenna Azubuike had 14 points and 4 rebounds in 14 minutes.
• 3/30 Dallas defeated Orlando 100-98 in Orlando. Orlando built a 77-62 lead with 2:45 left in the 3rd quarter, but Dallas was able to rally back with a 15-4 rund to pull within 81-77 with 8:50 to go. Dallas was able to tie the game at 89-89 and 91-91, but unable to take the lead until Delonte West (playing down the stretch instead of Jason Kidd) nailed a 3-pointer and then hit 2 free throws to give Dallas a 98-97 lead with 1:10 to go. The teams traded misses and Jameer Nelson (Orl) was fouled with 27 seconds left, but only hit 1-2 FT to make it a tie game at 98-98. Dallas got the ball to Dirk Nowitzki and he banked in a tough fade away 15-footer with 5.9 seconds left. After a timeout, Hedo Turkoglu (Orl) missed a 3-pointer but Ryan Anderson (Orl) missed (a fairly easy) short putback and that was game. Nowitzki had 28 points, Shawn Marion had 15 points including 7-10 FG and 9 rebounds, Jason Terry had 17 points and 6 rebounds, and West had 15 points and 5 assists. Anderson (Orl) had 21 points and 6 rebounds, Dwight Howard (Orl) had 19 points including 7-16 FT and 15 rebounds, and Nelson (Orl) had 24 points including 10-17 FG and 7 rebounds.
• 3/30 Brendan Haywood returned to action in the Orlando game after missing 7 games with a sprained right knee.
• 3/29 Miami defeated Dallas 106-85 in Miami. The game was close in the 1st half, but Miami pulled away in the 2nd half and out-scored Dallas 26-13 in the 4th quarter. Miami shot 23-27 FT and Dallas shot 10-13 FT. LeBron James (Mia) had 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists; Chris Bosh (Mia) had 19 points and 9 rebounds; and Dwyane Wade (Mia) had 16 points and 5 assists - 6 Miami players were in double-digits. Dirk Nowitzki had 25 points and 6 rebounds and Lamar Odom (Dal) had 12 points.
• 3/29 Dallas activated Delonte West and placed Dominique Jones (no injury) on IL. West returned to action after missing 21 games with a broken right ring finger.
• 3/29 In the NBADL, Dakota defeated Texas 109-89 in Bismark, North Dakota. Kelenna Azubuike had 6 points and 9 rebounds in 22 minutes.
• 3/28 In the NBADL, Dakota defeated Dallas 147-126 in Bismark, North Dakota. Kelenna Azubuike had 8 points in 7 minutes.
• 3/28 Former Mavs coach Don Nelson says that he has been informed that he has been inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame. The official announcement of the 2012 Hall inductees will occur on Monday.

Dallas took a 67-49 lead with 3:40 left in the 3rd quarter, but the Spurs bench players went on a 26-4 run to take a 75-71 lead with 8:25 left in the 4th - SA coach Gregg Popovich went with the bench players the rest of the game as a reward for them getting the Spurs back into the game. Dallas did not call timeout and pushed the ball up and Jason Terry nailed the free throw elbow jumper with .5 seconds left to tie the game at 91-91. But he missed both free throws and it was still a 101-100 game. • 12/20 In a preseason game, Oklahoma City defeated Dallas 87-83 in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City held a large lead most of the game, but Dallas out-scored Oklahoma City 30-13 in the 4th quarter. Jerome Randle had 17 points including 7-11 FG and Brandan Wright had 12 points and 4 rebounds. Jason Terry (ill), Delonte West (ill), and Vince Carter (no injury) did not play.

Odom is scheduled to earn $8.9 million for 11-12 (and his $8.2 million for 12-13 is a team option.
• 12/10 TRADE: In a sign-and-trade and 3 team trade, Dallas re-signed Tyson Chandler to a 4 year, $58 million contract and then Dallas traded away Chandler, the rights to 2009 2nd round draft pick (#56) Ahmad Nivins, the rights to 2007 2nd round draft pick (#58) Giorgos Printezis, and a 2012 2nd round draft pick and received Andy Rautins (whom Dallas is expected to buyout) and a portected 2012 2nd round draft pick from Washington (and an $11 million trade exception); New York traded away Rautins, Ronny Turiaf, a 2013 2nd round draft pick, and cash and received Chandler, the rights to Nivins, and the rights to Printezis; and Washington traded away a protected 2012 2nd round draft pick and received Turiaf, a Dallas 2012 2nd round draft pick, a New York 2013 2nd round draft pick, and cash.

• 12/6 The NBA released the 66 game lockout shortened 2011-12 schedule. The schedule is contigent on the the new CBA begin ratified, expected to occur by Thursday.
• 12/5 Dallas announced that they will play 2 preseason games (assuming the new CBA is ratified) vs Oklahoma City - on December 18 at 6:30 pm at the AAC and on December 20 at 7:00 pm in Oklahoma City.
• 11/26 After several days of negotiations (including 15 hours of negotiations on Friday that extended into Saturday morning), the NBA and the players' association announced that they have reached a tentative agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement that will end the lockout. The agreement does need to be finalized and voted on by both the players and owners, but everyone is optimistic that it will be approved and the tentative schedule is for a 66 game schedule starting on December 25 (with a triple-header of Boston at New York, Miami at Dallas, and Chicago at LA Lakers) and training camp starting December 9 (with free agency signings also starting December 9). Details of the new agreement were not announced yet.
• 11/21 Former Mav Cedric Ceballos has been hospitalized after suffering what his publicist said was a series of small heart attacks.
• 11/15 Due to the ongoing lockout, the NBA cancelled all games through December 15.
• 10/28 Due to the ongoing lockout, the NBA cancelled the rest of the games scheduled for November.
• 10/10 Due to the ongoing lockout, the NBA cancelled the first 2 weeks of the regular season (November 1 to November 14).
• 10/4 With the new Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations again failing to produce anything close to an agreement, the NBA announced that all of the pre-season games have been cancelled. It is expected that they will start cancelling some regular season games next week.
• 9/23 Due to the on going lockout, the NBA has postponed indefinitely training camp and canceled the 43 preseason games (including 2 Mavs games) that were scheduled for October 9-15.
• 9/19 Rudy Fernandez signed a contract with Real Madrid of Spain. The contract does allow Fernandez to opt-out and return to the NBA once the NBA lockout ends.

• 7/23 Dirk Nowitzki announced that he will play for Germany in the European Championships, which run August 31 through September 18 and the top 2 teams in the tournament receive Olympic berths for the 2012 Olympics in London.
• 7/19 Dallas announced their 2011-12 schedule. See www.nba.com for the schedule [since there is a good chance that the schedule will change with the lockout highly likely to extend into October or later, I'm not typing in my own listing of the schedule].
• 7/13 At the 19th annual ESPY Awards (ESPN, all sports), the Dallas Mavericks were named as Best Team, Rick Carlisle was named as Best Coach, and Dirk Nowitzki was named as Best NBA Player and Best Male Athlete.
• 7/1 As expected, the NBA lockout started. Teams may not make trades, sign players, or even have contact with any players until a new collective bargaining agreement is reach. No progress is expected to be made for a long time (as in months) and games for the 2011-12 season could be lost if the lockout extends into October or later.
