      cheekbone and activated Greg Dreiling.
12/9 Dallas activated Jamal Mashburn and placed Fred Roberts on IR 
     with a left elbow injury.
12/26 Dallas traded Jason Kidd, Tony Dumas, and Loren Meyer
      to Phoenix for Sam Cassell, Michael Finley, A.C. Green, and a 2nd round
      draft pick in 1998 or 1998.
1/7 Dallas released Erick Strickland.
1/8 Dallas placed Samaki Walker on IR with a sprained left ankle
    and activated Fred Roberts.

4/8 Dallas activated Erick Strickland and placed Samaki Walker on IR with 
    a severely sprained right ankle.  Walker expects to undergo surgery 
    later this month to clean out the ankle and, after the surgery, it
    will take 3 to 4 weeks to rehabilitate.
4/10 Dallas signed Stacey King to a 10-day contract and released Stevin 
     Smith.
4/14 Dallas released Greg Dreiling.
