New York fined Latrell Sprewell $250,000 for failing to tell the team that
he had broken his hand 2 weeks before training camp was to start.  He
underwent surgery on the hand October 1 and is expected to be out at least 
6 weeks.

Orlando released Corey Benjamin and Jabari Smith.

Memphis released Rob Dryden and Mark Vershaw.

Golden State released Joe Crispin.

New Jersey released Lonnie Jones and Mark Sanford.

Sacramento released Nakiea Miller, Jean-Paul Afif, and Sean Daugherty.
