News from June 9. TRADE (completion): In a complicated mess, Detroit sent their #25 pick to Sacramento via Philadelphia and Houston and Atlanta and then Sacramento returned the pick back to Detroit to complete the 2001 Jon Barry-Mateen Cleaves trade where Sacramento owed Detroit a future 1st round pick. Detroit had sent a future 1st round pick to Philadelphia as part of the 1997 Jerry Stackhouse trade, Philadelphia later sent that pick to Houston via the 1999 Mirsad Turkcan trade, Houston later sent that pick to Atlanta via the 2001 Terence Morris trade, and Atlanta then sent that pick to Sacramento via the 2002 Dan Dickau trade. Basically, Detroit keeps the #25 pick and Detroit and Sacramento no longer have any draft pick obligations to each other. [My head hurts after trying to figure this one out.] New Orleans named Tim Floyd as head coach. Golden State promoted Robert Rowell to team president.
