News from September 18.

The NBA announced that it will open next week's officials training camp
with replacement refs as the referees union rejected the latest contract
offer.  It is likely that the NBA refs will be locked out for the 
preseason and those games will be officiated by replacement refs [which 
was a disaster when it last occurred in 1995].  

The LA Clippers named John Lucas as an assistant coach.
