Chicago activated Luc Longley and placed James Edwards on IR with a
sprained left knee.

The LA Lakers will be retiring Gail Goodrich's #25.  Eddie Jones, who is
currently wearing #25, will change his jersey number next season.

John Stockton (Uta) captured his 2,311th steal to set the NBA career
record.  Stockton surpassed Maurice Cheeks' 2,310 steals.

With their victory, Orlando set the best home record start in the league
history by going 28-0.  The 1946-47 Washington Capitols opened the season
with a 27-0 home record.

Armon Gilliam (NJ) was named as Player of the Week.  Gilliam averaged 28
points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists as New Jersey went 3-0.
