News from December 1.

The NBA named Karl Malone (Uta) as Player of the Week.  Malone averaged 32
points, 11.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists as Utah went 3-0.
 
The NBA named Tim Duncan (SA) as Rookie of the Month for November.  Duncan
averaged 15.2 points and 11.1 rebounds as San Antonio went 9-7.
 
Golden State suspended Latrell Sprewell indefinitely for assaulting head
coach P.J. Carlesimo during practice.  Golden State is initially defining
it as a 10 game suspension, but says that it could be longer or shorter
depending on how talks with Sprewell go.  Carlesimo did not go into
details of the two assaults (after the first altercation, Sprewell
returned 15 minutes later), but there was a visible welt on Carlesimo's
neck.

Toronto signed Tim Kempton and released Ed Stokes.

Adam Keefe (Uta) had 14 points including 6-7 FG and 9 rebounds.
Karl Malone (Uta) had 19 points on 6-19 FG and 7-10 FT and 14 rebounds.
Howard Eisley (Uta) had 12 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals.
Jayson Williams (NJ) had 16 points including 5-6 FG and 9 rebounds.
Sam Cassell (NJ) had 26 points including 12-12 FT, 10 assists, and 7
turnovers.
