In a surprise move of a team doing the right thing, Golden State
terminated Latrell Sprewell's contract for violation of the clause in his
contract that states players must "conform to standards of good
citizenship and good moral character" and prohibits "engaging in acts of
moral turpitude".  Sprewell had physically assaulted head coach P.J.
Carlesimo during practice on Sunday.  Sprewell had two years left on his
4 year, $32 million contract.

Golden State activated Duane Ferrell.

Milwaukee placed Jeff Nordgaard on IR with a torn groin muscle.
