News from June 22. Lenny Wilkens was selected by the Basketball Hall of Fame's Board of Trustees for re-enshrinement for his coaching achievements. Wilkens was enshrined as a player in 1989. He will join John Wooden as the only people enshrined twice. Wilkens has 1,120 career NBA coaching victories - the most in NBA history. The complete class of 1998 for enshrinement will be announced next Monday (June 29). The nominees are Larry Bird, Adrian Dantley, Artis Gilmore, Gus Johnson, Alex Hannum, Marques Haynes, Sidney Moncrief, John Thompson, Chet Walker, Tex Winters, Jody Conradt, Harley Redin, Arnie Risen, Grady Lewis, Aleksandar Nikolic, and Ubiratan Pereira Maciel. The nominees must receive 18 of 24 votes from the Honors Committee to be enshrined.
