Meeting Notes
Mini Meeting - Dec 2nd 1998
Ted and Phill had a chance to kidnap Larry Ricci and his Gearing DD at
the Airport and haul both off to Denny's for intense interogation.
The Gearing is a neat little ship! Fast and quick turning it is proving to
be a pest on the water! We also looked over Dan's new HMS Roberts
(coastal Monitor) hull that had
just arrived from the Canadian shipwards. Great fun to see Larry again!
November, 1998
Our fall meeting saw the attendence of Tom Rovegno (now captain of the Graf Spee) and Keith Maxwell,
who is now working on the Adm Scheer. We will have to plan a crusier
pack battle this summer! We talked Keith's ears off with all sorts of
advice on what type of ship and how to build it. Phill showed off
several molds and castings he has been working on to spruce up the
looks of his ships.
August, 1997
Our August meeting was at Pine Lake County Park with three ships in the
water. We are still debating which ship is least battle ready.....
After to do lists were complete we headed back to Al and Alex Schumer's
place for BBQ in front to the TV watching the Swampworks video of working
ships. Discussions ensued about ponds, ship construction, battle dates,
and advertizing for new members.
July, 1997
Our meeting was delayed because Alex's team made the Playoffs which
were scheduled for the same weekend we were planning on running the
ships. (Is this good or bad news???)
June, 1997
Our June meeting was at the home of Al and Alex Schumer in Redmond.
Five people showed up. Lots of talk and action only on the part of the
kids. Al has hope that he will have time to work on the Invincible
again soon. Some refinements have been made on the other ships. One
pond has been identified but at least one more is needed. We are
planning to get together for an non-combat outing to test out the ships
followed by a BBQ late in the month.
May, 1997
Our May meeting was at the home of Larry Ricci in Renton. Five people
showed up, this may be too far to travel for many folks. Larry's
Invincible and Alex's Lutzow were operational (though not battle ready)
and were tested in the pool with onlookers from the weight room. We
welcomed Phill Lowe for the first time and were generous with tips as
to what we would do differently next time.
April, 1997
Our April meeting was held at the home of Al and Alex Schumer in Redmond.
Nine people attended. We welcomed Bob Guaglianone for the first time.
There are now six ships under construction and some are very close to
completion and battle readiness.
March, 1997
Our March meeting was at the Schumer's in Redmond. Eight people
showed up and there are seven ships under construction.
February, 1997
Our February meeting was held at the offices of John van Valkenburg.
Approximately six people attended (down from eleven in January) We now
have a seven confirmed ships under construction
We have a battle coming up in Yakima March 22nd but many of us will not
be ready in time. Hopefully, we'll have all our ships completed before
mid-spring so we can get a local battle under our belts before taking on
the Western Washington and Oregon Fleets. Keep building!

oops, where did I put those notes?
