With a multitude of pho restaurants along Classen Blvd., it is hard to know which one would be the best.
I decided to go into this one because the sign outside listed the types of pho served, including chicken, and I was in the mood for some good chicken soup. When it was served I thought the broth was outstanding. The chicken, though, consisted of dry, gristly dark meat that seemed as if it was more to flavor the soup than to actually eat. This may be the authentic method of preparing Pho Gà, and it did not diminish the excellent nature of the broth, but it would make me seek out either other restaurants or other types of pho. Almost everybody orders beef pho here, and several types of meat are served, so this is probably the recommended way to try Pho 99. |
