There were a couple of memorable features about this Thai restaurant in Capitol Hill. One was that I ate
about 3:00 in the afternoon, and the lunch specials were still being offered (and on Sat. and Sun. no less).
A wide variety of items is available, and with the house jasmine tea, will definitely be within the budget
(portions are rather small, though).
The most memorable thing here, though, is watching the procession of people walking and driving along Broadway. Although I have been used to a lot of strange dress and lifestyles around the University of Texas campus, it is nothing compared to Capitol Hill. This seems to be Seattle's much smaller version of San Francisco. You really wonder if this is for real, or if these people just dress up this way on weekends. I'm offering this as one possible explanation as to why the food was not that memorable. I thought the Ginger Tofu was good--not the best in Seattle, and not the worst. I think it was good enough to merit another visit to try some more dishes, but I didn't have much desire to see an encore of the freak show outside. |
