This is my experience in Beijing, China in the Summer of 2009.
If you came to this webpage first, it's better if you
start from the beginning of the story.

FISM Day 6
Last day at FISM and what a day!
I set my alarm for 9am but I was up a little earlier than that.
Had breakfast downstairs at the hotel's buffet.
Then I went to see Rocco Silano's one man show. I don't know about
everyone else but it seemed to me Rocco wasn't his slick and precise self today.
It looked like he didn't want to be performing that time. Perhaps he was sick.
After the show, we ran some errands around town.
When we finally get back to the hotel around 4pm, Rocco's lecture was already over.
By this time we were hungry so we went to the hotel's cafe again and both got the club sandwich.
This is the only item on their menu that I really like and it's filling.
I decide I want to see the dealer's room
around 5:30pm. They close at 6pm. So we walk to the CNCC
and go over to the dealer's room. What happens?
It's 5:35pm and they won't let people inside! They are closing up early.
Unbelievable. Well, all I can say is they lost several sales from me as I didn't
buy a single item from the dealers!
The final show was GREAT! There's new talent from Japan (wands and thimbles)
and Korea (CDs).
I would have provided a few pictures here but
they were really cracking down on conventioneers taking pictures for this show. See how bare this
webpage looks without pictures?
We left the show early because they were giving the political speeches and FISM
is really all about the magic. We went to the farewell party.
We were a little hungry that night and the food at the CNCC was not very appetizing (Where
was the McDonalds? I see people carrying bags of food with the McD logo on it.)
so we walked back to the hotel's cafe. They were having a buffet dinner and the price was
close to what we would order "a la carte" so we both went for the buffet.
They had japanese apples and green tea ice cream. :)
Back in my hotel room. I have to pack for tomorrow as I'm leaving for the USA.
