China 2009

By Al Wong

This is my experience in Beijing, China in the Summer of 2009. If you came to this webpage first, it's better if you start from the beginning of the story.

At Jiuzhaigou

The Pearl Shoals Waterfall at Jiuzhaigou. Actually, this is a small part of the waterfall as it continues for miles to the left. As you walk around, you begin to realize that this is part of a SUPER WATERFALL as it goes on for miles and miles down the mountain! Simply gorgeous.

As a side note, I saw this part of the waterfall 20 years ago in the city of Shenzhen in a miniature replica. It was a real deja vu moment for me! I saw it in a park showing the famous sights of China in miniature! Back then, I never thought I'd have the opportunity to see the waterfall in real life partly because China did not allow foreigners to travel here at that time.
