At Xi'an
When I first saw this canon some distance away, I was surprised
because I didn't know ancient Xi'an had the technology to make canons
this size. When I walked closer and touched the canon however,
I discovered it was made of fiber glass! Talk about faking out the tourists!
There were also what appeared to be ancient giant iron bells
which turned out to be trashcans and were also made of fiber glass.
The irony of this is China is filled with true blue, genuine, Real-McCoy,
objects of antiquity. They don't need to resort to any deception to
attract tourists.
You can see the battlements on the wall here.
