China 1999

This is my experience in China in the Summer of 1999. If you came to this webpage first, it's better if you start from the beginning of the story. 6/28/99 Street Traffic, Beijing This is one of the main streets near the dorms. The main street lanes are typically divided by a center island. Notice there are also islands on either side too. They separate the motor traffic from the bicycle lanes on either side. The little red Honda-like cars are taxis. As you can see, they are very plentiful as not less than 9 taxis are visible in this picture.
