China 1999

This is my experience in China in the Summer of 1999. If you came to this webpage first, it's better if you start from the beginning of the story. 7/21/99 Old Silk Road Site, Xi'an This line of sandstone statues mark the site of the beginning of the Old Silk Road. The statues are forming a caravan of merchants and camels. This picture was taken aboard our moving bus. The driver was not allowed park or stop in this area. He did slow down though. However, he didn't tell us he was going to slow down. So by the time I got my camera out and was ready to take this picture, the bus was moving away from the statues!
