  9. There is ONE simple reason we don't make things in the U.S.: Dumb Money. Large amounts of dumb money keep hold on the simplest investment, which is property, and the only way they can make money from these is to keep the rents high. That keeps the wages high for all working people, which makes it so the only jobs can be servicing others living at those high wage/rent rates. You want to fix it? Tax the money away from the dumb money holders to get the rents back down. Change the zoning regulations so all those empty office spaces can be rented as apartments. Change the banking system so it doesn't lock high mortgage rates into place according to rents. It's all about dumb mney and the legal infrastructure supporting the dumb holders which have become our financial feudalists. If you behead dumb money, you will get back a healthy economic system.
