It is one thing to train gullible people into believing they will live forever, or that it is bad to talk to your neighbor. It is another, more acceleratingly destructive thing again to talk people into immediate disbelief when conversation simply leads to details because it challenges things they have been made to have faith in, in apparent threat to eternal hell for any lack of faith. In fact there are a log of ways like this to break the ability of the individual to make simple analysis of critical information, and though the Churches have historically specialized in this, it is a much more widespread form of deception, and one which can take a community of empowered people and turn them into philosophical slaves.
