Orting Trails

Moss and ferns covered one of the forest paths. Many of the native plant species of the Puget Sound region were found in this forest. Many nurselogs supported younger trees. One supported a rhododendorn seedling. I moved it, host and all, to the garden in Enumclaw.
One set of paths followed the creeks. This one crossed a log bridge by one of several waterfalls. Rhododendrons were planted right to the water's edge.

Another trail through the rhododendrons led to Morgan Creek. This hemlock seeded itself in a rotted stump that has all but disappeared.
