| The oxydendrum, otherwise known as sourwood or sorrel tree, forms pagoda-like flowers in August. These blooms remain as the leaves turn in the fall. |

     The Mimosa adds a different leaf structure and tree shape to the garden. Pinkish-mauve flowers appear in August once the tree is established.  |
