Honey Locust leditsia triacanthos

Honey Locust in Fall

One of these honey locusts blew down during the storm of 2003. Click here to see a bench made out of that tree and the new tree sprouting out of the old one.

Honey locusts have invasive roots, and eventually I had to remove them all to save the rhododendrons around them. However, I found a way, using suckers, to replace them on about 10 year cycles to limit their size.
