After we crossed the Cascades and the Columbia River, we climbed up toward George, Washington. Above the freeway, we spied a herd of bronze wild horses. This is definitely no longer Puget Sound country.
In Spokane, we happened o the DiVinci exhibit at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture. It featured many of Di Vinci's machines, built according to his drawings, using materials of the time.

In Coeur d'Alene, we stopped by the Ironman event. This enclosure contained enough carbon fiber to build a Boeing Dreamliner.
