On a cold fall night, Jordan disappears into the darkness on a main path.

He reappears later on another trail.

Darkness approaches early on a winter evening. The trikes travel easily in the soft snow up to about four inches. Wetter or deeper snow, or an ice crust, bring things to a halt.

Packing the snow with a garden tractor keeps the trail open.

The blizzard of December, 2008, brought 75 mile per hour winds and thick snow, but they are not enough to stop the trike.

I ride back to the house and Christmas lights. Jupiter appears on the roof as a mystical omen.
