The Adrift Hotel/Inn at Discovery Coast is right on the trail. Take a short five mile round trip to the north end on the evening you arrive and a twelve mile ride south to Ilwaco and back the next day.
You can ride right into the lobby, past the free beach cruiser loaners, and up to the front desk.
The Inn adjoins the Adrift Hotel, part of the same complex, with a restaurant overlooking the ocean on the top floor (green siding).
If you need a break from riding the trail, you can walk the elevated 2500 foot boardwalk. Beginning just outside the Adrift Hotel, it parallels and crosses the Discovery Trail.
The Inn at Discovery Coast and Adrift Hotel are unusual places to stay, and not just because they are bike friendly. The owners are committed to sustainable business practices, and it shows in both the facilities and operations.
The owners built the Inn first in a minimalist style, often using reclaimed and recycled materials. They later acquired an economy hotel in a prime location (next door) and transformed it with the same philosophy.
Since they support local businesses and farmers, use organic foods and beverages, and employ sustainable building practices, we are happy to support them. They share our values.
