The small parking lots for the east and west portions of the Puyallup Riverwalk Trail are connected by a few blocks of low-traffic residential streets.
Although the trail is close to a busy commercial area, it is surprisingly insulated from the traffic and shopping centers. The trail follows the Puyallup River through forest, passing a skate park.
Parking is also available at the skate park.
The Puyallup Riverwalk Trail is about five miles long, so doing a round trip and including the Sumner River Trail gives you about a fourteen mile waterfront ride. I think the best beginning is at the Sumner Recycle Center/Sewage Treatment Plant parking lot.
