Introduction
Family at the Time
In 1941, Bob built this one bedroom cottage
as a place for the family to live while he built the big house,
and to see if his newly acquired masonry technique would work.
But then war put a stop to everything for five years. Bob is
thirty here, Betty twenty-eight, and Nancy three. I won't be
born for two years. |

Nancy looks at a model of the house she will
grow up in. |
Betty Anderson is shown with her mother
and father in the summer of 1948. Nancy is nine and John (me)
is five.
Following my father's example, twenty-nine
years later I also designed and built a house using native materials
(cedar) from a unique site. Click here
to see it. |
