I just subscribed to the vent users list today. My name is Annette Hanna.
I am 37 yrs of age...diagnosed with post polio syndrome. I contracted polio
from the vaccine in 1959 at the age of 7 mths.
I have been a vent user since April 1994..when I was hospitalized with
respiratory failure. I have a permanent tracheostomy. I use the vent
during the night while sleeping or during naps. Otherwise during the day..I
breathe on my own. I use a power chair for mobility.
I live in Southern IL area with my boyfriend of 5 yrs. We live in the
country...with my many animals.. 4 cats, 3 birds, and a bunny. My hobbies
are art, needlepoint, and ah yes,,,the computer.
I look forward to meeting and sharing with other vent users...
