hello all - I must confess at the start that I am NOT a vent-user. I am,
however, a physical therapist working on a vent unit in the northeast and
try to get whatever information I can to help my staff and my patients. I
may be making some referrals to this list, as I have been encouraging
internet access and communication (I fear I'm becoming a net geek) by my
patients, some of whom will remain vent-users long term. Most of the folks
who go through our unit are able to wean from the vent.

I also have some vent experience from working at The Institute for
Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) in Houston some 10 years ago (my how time
flies).

I'm not sure how much I will be able to contribute to the discussions, but
rest assured I will pipe in when I think my contribution may be welcome.
