Nope. I live at home with my mum & dad.
> Is full time nursing staff needed?
I have 2 full-time and 1 part-time carers, none are qualified nurses.
They learnt how to look after the vent from myself and mum.
> How do you pay for all this stuff?
My local health trust provide my medical equipment and I get a monthly
grant from the Independent Living Fund, to pay my carers wages.
> How do you bath?
Bed baths.
> Can you stay in your wheelchair all day or are you in bed all the
> time?
I stay in my chair. Take a look at the photos on my homepage.
> Will I be able to talk and eat normally?
I can talk for England! My phone bills prove that one :) I can eat
anything, too.
> Do you go to resturants, movies, concerts, outdoor activities?
Definitely! I went out for a meal and to the cinema (saw Phenomenon - ace
film) only las week. I'm a big fan of hard rock/heavy metal, so I go to
lots of concerts. Outdoor festivals (last years Monsters Of Rock at Castle
Donington comes to mind) are a bit of a pain if it rains, though. Vents
don't like getting wet ;)
Seriously, life on a vent can be as "normal" as you make it.
Hope this helps.
Take care
