I use a Bennett Companion 2800 Portable Volume ventilator, settings are 12
breaths a minute on the assist mode, 20 to 25 pressure. I have a number 5
trach with tube uncuffed and this system has worked for me for 26 years. I
stay on the vent at night and as needed during the day. I rarely get
infections, take lots of vitamins and vitamin C, and have no problems with
trach scarring or trach site infections.
