I have been using a Bantam Respo (with a mouth piece) for sleeping
for the last 17 years. Lately, I have been having trouble with them stopping
for no apparent reason. The Tech at Respironics told me that they no longer
make this model so they keep patching them up the best they can but a lot of
the parts are no longer available. Hence, the problem with them becoming
increasing unreliable. I assume Respironics will soon be replacing these
units with something similar.
My question to other vent users is this: Has anyone had experience with
Bantams? If Respironics does replace these units, what respo is similar? I
like the Bantam because it is relatively light weight and compact. Also, it
does not have the alarms that other respos have (low pressure). The only
alarm it has is when the electrical current is cut off (which is all I need).
I once tried a LP100 (I think) and I didn't like it because of the alarms.
Since I use a mouth piece, I often take it out or adjust it. Every time I
did this the alarm would go off. Also I found it very heavy to lift and I
didn't like the whooshing sound when it exhaled.
Any advice or suggestions?
