Dear Blane, A passy-muir doesn't look much bigger than the part of the trach
adaptor that attaches to your circuit line. A passy-muir fits right into
circuit somewhere between the trach adaptor and before the exhalation valve..
It will stick out to far from your neck if you connect it right to the trach
adaptor or the trach itself.
Doe you take nebulizer treatments? That spot is good. Use O ring adpators
to make it fit/
I never like to undo the brown rubber flex tubing all the time, so I put an O
ring inside that that will fit the passy-muir and also the nebulizer
apparatus. The passy-muir that I have seen is blue-green in color and the
part that connects closest to you smaller circle than the distal end of it.
A passy-muir isn't much bigger than the middle knuckle of your middle
finger.
Good luck! Wish i could be there to help you. I love to figure out the
best way to make circuits. sometimes you just have to have a respitory
therapist bring out a bunch of stuff and see what will work. Cindy
