Cody,

The only way I can see a cell phone effecting a vent is if the
vent had some type of microprocesser in it.

The was a very strange phenomenon where stray radio waves
effected some electric wheelchairs that were equipped with
microprocessers (computer chips) for controling speed, turning speed,
etc. This was quite a serious problem here in the S.F. Bay Area for
several people, including me. It happened in older models of Everest &
Jennings and InvaCare wheelchairs. Occasionally, my chair would just
recline itself for no reason! Once it did it while I was crossing a busy
6 lane street. Whoa!

Eventually, some chairs were fitted with special shielding which
protected them from these stray radio waves. I have a new wheelchair
since May, so I don't worry about it.
