Hi...

I haven't written in awhile..but if you been on this list for long you may
remember my trach issue that I have been dealing with for the last 7
months. I have a Shiley #6 cuffless trach and have been having leakage
when hooked on the vent. For months we have been solving the situation by
putting rubber bands on the inner cannula before I insert it into the trach.

For months...my vent supplier tried to contract Shiley to no avail with a
solution. Finally I had had it so I talked with my doctor..he called
Shiley..made some major head way..and today two representatives from Shiley
did a home visit after flying in from California.

I must say guys, I was quite impressed with these people. Jim, my partner
(the skeptic that he is) was also impressed. The engineer and sales rep
were very willing to listen to my situation at hand. They were not the
least bit patronising (sp?), but interested in getting the situation solved.

They also wanted my imput for future trach products that they are
developing. I must tell you that if any of you Shiley trach users have any
reason to contact them, please do....it will be worth your while. They
were very intelligent, and articulate people.

Hopefully we will be able to get my leakage problem solved.........
