Eric,
Recently while hospitalized at Whittier Rehab in Westborough, Mass. I
tried using a new model of the inexsufflator or coughalator. They called
the company to get specific settings for the inspiratory and expiratory
phases as my vent pressures are rather high [about 50]. I would have to
look for the phone number they gave me to contact the company. It did
not seem to work out for me but I understand that Christopher Reeve uses
one to avoid as much suctioning. They gave me a lot of information on
the machine, including doctor's letters for other patients who had really
benefitted who were trying to get insurance coverage.
I could look up more of this information if you are interested.
Many of the articles were about people with muscular dystrophy.
Gail ........The BEAD goes on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
