Your scenario is not unique. If the tubes become detached or the adapter
pops off my trache, I have only about two minutes before I'm a goner. In
22+ years, I have faced this situation many times. Fortunately, I'm never
left alone. Ironically, my closest call was in the hospital a few years
back! My doctor immediately put me in ICU where there is always at least
two nurses in the area, and then he really kicked some butt on the floor
where it happened.
