Erika, thanks for the update about Bailey's situation. I, too, am a mother ...
and I sit here in awe of you. It must take such courage and strength to go
through all of these things with Bailey. She is very lucky to have such a
devoted and loving mother. From my own experience with my daughter, I hurt
when she hurts!

My daughter is the healthy one, and I am the one on the vent. One of the great
sadnesses that I have felt is not being able to do some of the mother-daughter
activities that require a lot of walking, physical strength, and stamina. My
daughter and I have talked about this and have allowed ourselves to grieve. I
am there for her in all ways that count though, and this has brought great joy
to me.

It sounds like the birthday party for Bailey will be a lot of fun!

My best to you and Bailey,
Carol in Massachusetts
